Published by Paraclete Press. PL.0208. Joel Martinson is well-known for his choral anthems and organ works for the church and this recent work is perhaps one of his most inspired. The text by Delores Dufner 0S13 is ecumenical in spirit and speaks of the many gifts and comforts of God. The music is set for mixed choir with organ and oboe a lovely combination. The flowing vocal melody finds its mirror in the oboe with its plaintive sound. The vocal parts mix unison and four-part writing completely in the central portion of the voice. Since the text pleads for God to come to us this would also be appropriate for the season of Advent.

Die Gesangspartien mischen unisono und Vierstimmigkeit vollständig in dem zentralen Abschnitt der Stimme. Da der Text setzt sich für Gott zu uns kommen würde dies auch für die Adventszeit angemessen sein.
