The violin II and viola parts can be played in first position. The cello and violin I parts require familiarity with second and third positions respectively. All parts require confidence in reading chromatics and enharmonic intervals as well as duple and triple subdivisions and staccato bow strokes. The biggest challenge is ensemble, including canonic entrances, fermatas, and tempo changes.
