Sometimes one supports the other, sometimes the two voices mingle as one and once each one has a short solo musical expression. These Silent Duration pieces are notable for their incorporation of silence as an integral part of the compositional fabric. To date Iâve written over forty works in this style from solo to large orchestra. Silent Durations XLI was written for my friend Annabelle Desire and was premiered with the composer playing clarinet in the 10th century Saint-Jean BaptistÃre in Poitiers, France.
