Fantasia on a Christmas Carol is based on the ever popular carol O Come, All Ye Faithful, but it also employs Bach's Sheep May Safely Graze melodies from Cantata BMV 208. The idea for this work came as I was on my way to do a little Christmas shopping. The classical music station was playing a beautiful version of Sheep May Safely Graze, with a chamber ensemble of guitars, woodwinds, and stings. Being in the Christmas spirit, I couldn't help but think how similar the chords were to O Come, All Ye Faithful. In my mind, I could hear the Christmas carol in Bach's masterpiece. And so the idea for this work was born. Appropriate for middle school and smaller high school groups. Second clarinets usually stay below the break. Parts are written with more independence, and instrumentation increases slightly. There is still adequate doubling in the lower voices. Grades 2 - 2.5.

Fantasie über ein Weihnachtslied auf dem beliebten Weihnachtslied O Come, All Ye Faithful Basis, aber es beschäftigt auch Bachs Sheep May Safely Graze Melodien aus der Kantate BMV 208. Die Idee zu dieser Arbeit kam, als ich mich auf den Weg, um ein wenig Weihnachtseinkäufe zu machen. Der Klassiksender spielte einen schönen Version von Sheep May Safely Graze, mit einem Kammerensemble von Gitarren, Holzbläser, und Stiche. Als in der Weihnachtsstimmung, konnte ich nicht umhin zu denken, wie ähnlich sich die Akkorde waren O Come, All Ye Faithful. In meinen Augen konnte ich das Weihnachtslied in Bachs Meisterwerk zu hören. Und so ist die Idee zu diesem Werk geboren wurde. Geeignet für Mittelschule und kleinere Hochschulgruppen. Zweitens Klarinetten in der Regel unter der Pause bleiben. Die Teile werden mit mehr Unabhängigkeit geschrieben und Instrumentierung steigt leicht. Es gibt noch ausreichend Verdoppelung in den Unterstimmen. Noten von 2 bis 2,5.
