Boston: White, Smith & Co., 1884. Plate 5531.

Misc. Notes Becker's most popular work, much anthologised
Included in the category Intermediate Works for Violin.
The violin part(s) is in 1st to 3rd position. Can actually be played in 1st pos, but this involves awkward string crossings.
The other works in this collection are virtuoso in style, so this is probably a simplified version.

Original Luckhardt edition received by HMB in two parts (first two in 1865, last four in 1866.) Tonger edition received by HMB twice (1877, 1882). May be the source of the "Romanze" by Becker published by White, Smith in 1884 (perhaps purchased by an agent on what I imagine was one of their regular European trips, judging from all the recently-published European music in American publishers' catalogs in those days of loose American copyright laws :) )
