Composed by Everett Reed. Christmas Carols. Hodie Choral Suite. Octavo. Published by Aspen Grove Music (AG.4007).

Hodie is a three movement choral suite for Christmas. It is a rhythmic and joyous short work to announce the Christmas Season. Hodie is harmonically complex, using parallel major and minor harmony in each song. Based on anonymous Latin texts, an English text is also provided. For Mixed Chorus and Piano. Published as separate octavos, the three movements of Hodie are listed below. The gently syncopated accompaniment suggests the movement of the caravan, as the kings from the east traveled to see the King of Kings. "Beholding the star, the wise men, with great joy, came seeking for the boy." The ethereal melody evokes the sense of wonder the magic felt as they paid homage to Jesus.
