Published by theupperstaff (A0.646134).This is from Grieg’s Lyric Pieces for solo piano. It is set in the bright key of E major. The opening melody for the violin is supported by a rolling quarter note figure in thirds for the second violin and viola. This sets atop a pedal from the cello/bass line. At the end the violins may execute this final melodic fragment an octave if technical limitations apply or in octaves. I have conducted this piece a number of times with success.
