Jazz choir (SSAATTBB choir, bass and drums)

SKU: NC.VJ1356-R

Composed by Georg Philipp Telemann. Arranged by Ward Swingle. Set of rhythm parts. Published by UNC Jazz Press (NC.VJ1356-R).

(G. P. Telemann) (Level 4) SSAATTBB, bass and drums. Includes all five movements: Allegro, Adagio, Presto, Adagio and Allegro. This is one of the rare occasions that we recorded an entire work--a little known concerto of Telemann. It's a remarkable piece. The first movement is in typical concerto-grosso style; the second and fourth are very lyrical;, the third is a fast duet for two tenors; and the fifth (the most difficult)is a fast piece with intricate counterpoint. We have often used this work in concerts to get away from the systematic programming of a series of 2 and 3-minute pieces.
