This is an instrumental arrangement of Mozart’s beautiful choral setting of the Ave Verum Corpus ("Hail True Body") text. Naturally, as a version for guitar, it does not contain words. However I feel Mozart’s music communicates, to some extent, the meaning of the text by itself. Some sustained notes are not always possible to play as intended but are implied with notes in brackets. The arrangement is dedicated to my mother, Ann Burgess (1947-2006). It was created in the few days leading up to her funeral, along with the accompanying recording which I made for the occasion on 5th April 2006 where it was played.
