Wernthal may not have been founded until the 1890s and seems to have moved to Berlin only in 1899 (when they also published/republished Brambach's Op.42- and many higher op. nos. of his), to judge from HMB notices at any rate... Plate number of 51 is possibly Cohen's as Wernthal's plates typically had a prefix of O.W and Wernthal acquired Cohen in 1899.

Wernthal edition uploaded by us from Sibley later than the 1880 Cohen edition. The other two piano quartets are Op.13 (in E, pub.1868 by Kistner) and Op.110 (in G minor, pub.1899 by Kistner).
