Songtexte: Lex Zaleta. The Hopin' Road. Fall For Anything.

Every time I close my eyes,
I'm falling from somewhere on high.
So, just before I fall asleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

At least in sleep I never dream
I'm on some sort of balance beam,
Thirty stories up on the edge
Of some scary skyscraper ledge.

They say if you don't stand for something,
You'll fall for anything.
Well, I'm all for putting wings
On all of these bed springs.

From rooftops and from mountaintops,
The falling never ever stops.
I topple from high church porches
Down to angry mobs with torches.

When I have to get up to pee,
Icarus plunges into the sea.
When that old alarm clock sounds,
My body bounces off the ground.

They say if you don't stand for something,

You'll fall for anything.
Well, I'm all for putting wings
On all of these waking dreams.

Looks like I'm in for another close call;
This old airplane's about to stall.
I guess the Bible knows it all -
Pride does go before a fall.

I'm not sure how all of this will end;
If more dark days on these depend.
If all this is real or pretend.
The story of my rise and fall.

The story of my rise and fall
Is a matter of protocol.
It's out and out beyond recall.
It's Humpty Dumpty off the wall.

They say if you don't stand for something,
You'll fall for anything.
Well, I'm all for putting wings
On all of these waking dreams.
